Site Supervisor

Description

The Site Supervisor is responsible for following the instructions tendered by the project manager. He will assist from start to finish of the project to meet all compliances with the deadlines, the material list, the labor allowance and supervise the actions of site employees and their safety etc. He uses his strong organizational and time management skills to ensure that he completes his manual work, keeps active on-site as well as manage the site.

In a responsible and independent manner, the site supervisor will have the following tasks to perform and ensure they are completed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The typical schedule is to be on site, Monday to Friday 7 am to 16:15 but might be required to add to this schedule
  • fostering a positive atmosphere, promoting proactive and effective communication,
  • facilitating problem solving and for minimizing and resolving conflict in a constructive manner
  • Analysing site daily to monitor scheduling timelines, quality control, and completion of work. Must do a walk through at the end of every days in order to properly coordinate the fallowing next 2 days regarding the labor force and material require
  • pay close attention to detail
  • Accountable for assisting the project manager for the construction of a project from start to finish
  • Ensure job site is clean and ready for the next trade
  • Send purchase order to request the require materials
  • Make daily reports such as request RFI, scheduling issues, labour time description, labour work description, issue encountered description, safety issues
  • Maintain daily reports and any other reports required and send them to the CM and PM prior to 16:30.
  • Hold a toolbox safety meeting every morning and will ensure to have an attendance sheet signed everyday. These records will be kept all the way until completion of the project and tender to the office after words.
  • Maintain control and responsibility for the security and operation of all equipment on the job site
  • Verify and sign off each delivery to ensure all material showed on the invoice is on site prior to sign. On a weekly base will tender to the office the pink slip of the deliverys
  • Assist in monitor deliveries and the installation of quality products
  • Assist in scheduling the appropriate number of employees or sub on site in order to keep projects on time and budget
  • Conducting walkthroughs with project manger and other upper management team
  • Attend staff meetings
  • Ensuring safe work practices and WSIB requirements are met on site and that all company safety policies are followed by ensuring employees and subcontractors follow safe work policies and procedures, ensure that the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act are enforced and communicate site rules regarding safety procedures.
  • Ensure that all employees punch upon arrival, departure and change of work site and used the GPS.
  • Ensure that all vacation request (supervisor or staff) will be send to our admin@roydrywall.com address in order to manage properly the vacation allocation.
Assets and important attributes:
  • Good working knowledge of building codes and practices, must be able to read drawings and specs
  • Strong work ethic, high standards, and feel a sense of personal accountability and ownership
  • Excellent in problem solving
  • Safety certifications (first aid, Fall Arrest, WHMIS).
  • High energy, high capacity for work, with good attention to detail
  • Confident and articulate

  • Be at least 16 years of age.
  • High school diploma.
  • Workers must be punctual and reliable.
